Social Media: a Platform for Leadership and Influence

Everyone has a story. Many Nurses had long time aspirations of being a Nurse. I, on the other hand, did not. I really didn’t have much direction in any direction. After high school I got myself into a sea of bad decisions and in some ways, was so out of contact with my family and those who truly mattered.

I had no money, surrounded myself with a bad crew, was living in a basically condemned apartment with no self esteem and absolutely nothing going for myself. It was the lowest point of my life, but from that low point came the best decision ever.
Never underestimate the power of trials, failures, and bad situations. You’d be surprised what those moments can inspire within.

Nursing found me when I needed it the most. It’s been the best decision I’ve ever made. My journey has gifted me a special empathy for patients in similar situations. Just remember that your journey is never truly done until you say it is.

Social Media was something that sort of indirectly happened because of an opportunity I had while filming a TV show with abc at my old hospital.  I realized after some time that my ability to reach and influence people was a great gift that I wanted to embrace. Social media gives us a great platform to have a voice, to lead others, to spread positivity, and offer guidance. I am so grateful that my presence on social media has helped people not only within the nursing profession, but in other industries as well.
