Katie Duke is a Board Certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner in New York City. With over 18 years as a nursing professional, she serves as a mentor, media expert, keynote and motivational speaker, podcast host, and agency represented social media leader.
Ms Duke is respected most for her authentic transparency and relatable content focusing on mentoring, lifestyle, and professional career experience and guidance, with an emphasis on how to grow through your “Bad Decisions” and make them your success story.
Duke completed a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from City University In New York Hunter College, and a Masters of Science in Nursing from Columbia University in the City of New York. She serves as a mentor and speaker in both the personal and professional development spaces. She is dedicated to empowering nurses and healthcare providers to pursue their passions and create careers that are on the non-traditional path which result in better work life balance.
She is the host of the “Bad Decisions Podcast”, which is a Top Rated Philosophy Podcast on Apple podcast charts.
Katie was a pioneer of the healthcare influencer marketing model, dedicated to providing a venue for real life healthcare providers to share knowledge, have representation, promote advocacy, and inspire others throughout the world of social media in diverse, inclusive, motivational campaigns.
From the exposure she gained on TV, she quickly realized that there needs to be more relatable, authentic, female healthcare personalities in the media.
Over the course of building her personal platform, she has worked with global brands on influencer marketing campaigns, been featured in women’s empowerment media campaigns, was the Keynote Speaker at the 2020 AANP National Conference, was featured on the 2020 Emmy Awards for her work as a frontline provider during the NYC Covid19 crisis, and additionally presented the Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.
Katie worked the Covid19 crisis in New York City, and subsequently contracted a case of severe Covid19 and required inpatient hospitalization. She knows what it is like to work as a Provider throughout the pandemic, and additionally she understands what it means to be a patient on the other side of the spectrum of the Coronavirus Pandemic. This experience gives her a truly unique ability to deliver encouraging messaging to her healthcare provider audience and inform the public of key public health talking points throughout her platforms.
